COMMITMENT

When people first meet they are still independent.

They find they have synergistic emotional energy, similar ideas and finally, they start sharing decisions.

Now they are INTIMATE and share INTIMACY.

But if they remain stuck there it is called CODEPENDENCE.

They need to be able to bounce back and forth between INTIMACY and INDEPENDENCE, a state called INTERDEPENDENCE.

It allows us to shift back and forth between the two, able to agree to disagree, able to go do one's own thing and hobbies, and still have COMMITMENT.
